Welcome to Gundam Plus II, the successor to the original Gundam Plus site.
Episode 7
On Luna’s surface, Kou gains altitude in the Gundam and when he reaches 900 meters, he banks and thrusts, successfully pulling off a gang flag at 115% the previous capacity of the Gundam. Nina brags to her friend and Mora about her top notch Gundam and her love for how Kou handles it. Mora reminds her that she is at work. Kou docks and the Anaheim members stress check the Gundam’s joints. Someone asks Kou how the Full Vernian upgrade was for him. Kou suggests they try for 160 next times. Nina walks up to him and says that it could handle 230 Kou says that his body could never handle that. Nina says she is putting her whole heart into turning up the Gundam, and then adds that it is for Kou’s sake. When Kou exits into Anaheim’s lobby, Keith is waiting for him. Keith hands Kou 2 movie tickets and tells him to ask Nina. Mora walks up and apologizes for being late. Mora puts her hand on Keith’s shoulder and they walk out with Keith’s arm around her.
In Kelly’s junkyard, Lateura yells at him for making friends with a Feddie while he polishes his helmet. He tells her his war isn’t over yet and she knocks the helmet out of his hands. Lateura runs out crying and Kelly yells for her. Cima meets with O’Sullivan again and tells her that he will not tolerate any trouble on Luna. Cima says that he seems thankful for any trouble off of Luna. She says that it is the Lunarians who throw the world into chaos. O’Sullivan insists that he just wishes to be of service to her. She asks him to give her some better mobile suits since they give some rather nice ones to the Feddies. O’Sullivan asks if a mobile suit that is just about to be rolled out would suit her. She seems to approve and then asks him to stop giving the Albion so much support. In their office Nina’s co workers watch while she plugs away at code again. One of them comments that love is blind. Nina says she wants to get it done before the Albion leaves. Another asks if she is going back on board. Nina says they need data on the Gundam. While they make jokes about risking her life for adventure and romance, a girl comes in and tells Nina that the chief wants to see her. The chief tells her that she will be transferred out of the mobile suit department and be taken off the Albion.
In Kelly’s garage, Cima’s goon hands him a briefcase full of gold bars and informs him that Kelly will not be piloting the Val Varo. He says that the Val Varo is too powerful to be trusted to a cripple. In her office, Nina looks at Kou’s profile and cries for him to help her. Kelly locks him in a room and watches his tape from Gato, explaining how he’ll know when to join the Delaz fleet. He looks up and wonders what Gato is doing now. Captain Synapse tells everyone onboard the Albion that Stardust is the Delaz Fleet’s operation and all attacks until now have been only to confuse them. Synapse tells the crew to not be angry with the Lunarians for asking the Albion to leave and Kou yells how Nina is any different from him. He taps his pocket and realizes he still has the movie tickets. Cima’s supply ship begins to leave the moon as well.
The rest of Anaheim’s staff leaves work while Nina keeps at the computer. Her friend comes in and tells her that she has a guest, Kou Uraki. Kou stutters and says her office is really clean. He sees that she looks upset and asks if something is the matter. Kou pulls a chair out and Nina notices the movie tickets in his pocket. Kou continues to make an ass of him and Nina asks if he wanted something. He says it can wait if she is busy but she says she finished her work. He can’t bring himself to ask her out and instead asks about the pulse in the Gundam’s manipulator. She pounds her desk and calls him a coward before running out of her office. Kou runs after her but is stopped by Nina’s friend. She tells him to stick to mobile suits if that is all he can handle. Lateura pounds on Kelly’s garage, asking what he is doing. Kelly already has his pilot suit on and tells Lateura to try to understand, if he beats the Gundam, Delaz fleet will have to accept him. In Nina’s apartment, her father talks to her on a video phone. Her father tells her to come home. Nina says she will and then hangs up. Kelly gets into the Val Varo and the airlock opens to where he is supposed to hand it off to Cima. Cima says that it is too soon and then the would-be pilot tries to run.
While the Albion crew is boarding, Kou looks around for Nina. They are informed that an unidentified mobile armor is approaching. Cima fires on the Val Varo and her man launches in a Zaku. Cima thinks that Kelly has finally snapped and that he will surrender the Val Varo to the Feddies. The Zaku fires wildly and Kelly simply charges it, splitting the Zaku in half. While Nina walks, carrying her luggage, Kelly broadcasts to the Albion that he wants a fight with the Gundam. While Mora prepares the Gundam, Kou wonders if it is Kelly. Synapse corrects his ship’s course to not appear to use Von Braun as a shield. A warning shot goes under the Albion and Kelly says that if he doesn’t get to fight the Gundam, he’ll open fire on Von Braun. Without much of a choice, Kou launches in the Gundam. Kou asks why Kelly is doing this and Kelly realizes he is fighting Kou. Kelly reminds him that they were bound to be enemies next time they met. Kelly fires at Kou, melting his shield. Someone leaves Luna’s airlock despite the lock-down order. Kou fires at the Val Varo and misses with each shot. Kelly returns fire and knocks the Gundam into a rock. Kou asks Kelly why he is throwing his life away. Kelly drops something off the Val Varo which Kou assumes are dud rounds. They open up and trap Kou in a field of electricity much like the Adzam’s net. Nina moves up and yells to Kelly that he is behaving like Gato. Keith fires at the Val Varo and misses. Kelly returns fire and hits the sled that Nina is on. Kelly is shocked and Keith uses his chance to shoot Kou free. Kou boosts and fires like a madman at Kelly. Kou finally lands several shots on the Val Varo’s hull but they do almost no damage. Kelly barrel rolls and catches Kou in the Val Varo’s claw. Kou detaches from the legs and stabs the Val Varo with only the Gundam’s torso. Kou tells Kelly to use his escape system. Kelly says he purposely didn’t install one. Kou flies away and Kelly flings the Gundam’s legs towards him as the Val Varo descends and explodes. Cima gets a call from O’Sullivan, reminding her that he wanted no trouble on Luna. Cima replies “bite me”. Nina’s body drifts and smacks into the Gundam’s hand. Kou opens the cockpit and says he needs Nina to come along with him. Nina jumps to Kou and he meets her halfway at Gundam’s arm. The Albion pulls away from Luna’s gravity well and heads for Solomon.
Paul Jr’s Thoughts:
Not to be mean but Kelly and Kou really didn’t seem to care about Lateura’s feelings at all. Mora and Keith getting together...whatever makes them happy I guess. How does Nina know about Gato and Kelly? Anyone could’ve seen Kelly’s death coming a mile away and he didn’t seem to get much closure either. With Kou’s skill and attitude becoming sufficient, will he be able to beat Gato now?
