Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny

 

After the commercial success of Gundam SEED a sequel was made and premiered on TV in Japan in 2004. Following the events of Gundam SEED this series picks up 2 years after the peace treaty between Earth and Zaft was signed. The series follows the main character named Shin Asuka who serves within the ZAFT forces after his family was killed in Orb during the conflict there.

We pick up where three prototype Gundams are stolen from Zaft by what appears to be Earth Forces. Shin and the ship he serves on, the Minerva, are dispatched to track down and recover the stolen suits. Through the 50 episodes of this show we learn that the peace is not truly in place and many may think and that there are many forces moving behind the scenes to change the world for both Earth and the Colonies.

Much like Gundam SEED, this series is equally hated by the older and UC fans while beloved by the younger and newer fans. This series was recently released on DVD in North America and currently only airs on YTV in Canada within North America. There are no indications that it will appear on USA TV anytime soon.
