Welcome to Gundam Plus II, the successor to the original Gundam Plus site.
Episode 11 - Reunion at Minsry
We start off with Flit in his bunk as he recalls the death of Don Boyage along with all the other battles he had to this point. He then remembers Yurin and the ribbon she gave to him. At that point Emily just happens to enter his room and Flit quickly hides the ribbon before running out and leaving a worried Emily fretting as we hit the opening credits.
We’re back and it’s down in the hanger bay where Milias is looking for Woolf but she’s told he’s elsewhere and we follow her where we find Woolf working out in the gym. She talks with him and they discuss how worried everyone is about the upcoming battle with the UE. She then leaves but we spot Largann outside in the hall. Are we implying a love triangle? Didn’t know Largann was into her.
We’re now inside the actual colony where the meeting with all the “forces” is to take place. We learn that this colony of Minsry is supposed to closely resemble “old earth” which ohhs and ahhs the gathered crew. Back on the Diva, Grodek has asked the AGE builder be hooked into the Diva to come up with upgrades. To Vargas’ surprise it spits out some designs really quickly and it seems to imply that the Diva will “transform”. So, this is macross now? Will Emily be useful by singing during battle? We also learn the Diva is staying at the colony for two weeks. Emily then says she knows someone who can help make the modifications within the two weeks.
Back with Flit and the gang and as they head to the meeting place Flit breaks away with he sees someone, who turns out to be Yurin. They have a mini-reunion in which it’s all but hinted that she’s in love with him so thus she is destined to die by Gundam law #13. The rest of the crew heads to the mansion that is owned by Alzack Birmings who was a friend of Don Boyage. We also learn that he’s the adopted father of Yurin. Back on the Diva and Emily’s someone to help is Madorna. Wait, didn’t it take two weeks to get there? Does Madorna have FTL transport? There also seems to be another Federation investigation unit trying to track down and arrest Grodek on the station.
Over in the colony as we see through song and various scenes the team planning the attack while Flit and Yurin share some quality time and we learn that all of this took place over two weeks. In the end the plan is rather simple; the capital ships attack the base with their heavy weapons while the mobile suits lead the in close assault. Took two weeks to come up with that?
As the team is headed back to the Diva the Federation team arrives, with mobile suits and arrest Grodek at gunpoint. For a few minutes the rest of the crew whine and moan about what to do before Flit rallies them into freeing their captain. Using the Gundam, Flit disables the federation mobile suits while the rest of the crew frees Grodek. Grodek also knocks out and takes the federation soldiers comm. Units to keep them from calling for help but the leader does so after they leave. Good job with that search there gang.
Back on the Diva as we learn the upgrades to the ship are complete with Emily implying the battle will start soon as the episode ends.
Nimrod’s Thoughts – Well, that certainly went nowhere other then setting up the obvious Yurin death as she pilots the PsychoGundam type unit that Flit destroys. So many plot holes also don’t help. I’ll also add Largann to the dead pool although one never knows.
