Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

 

After Turn-A was over it was time to bring about a new Gundam series for the new century. Gundam SEED was to be that series. Another alternate universe series, Gundam SEED aired in Japan from 2002 through 2003.

Being very similar to the original Mobile Suit Gundam, this series follows another teen that is forced to pilot an experimental mobile suit during the war between earth and the colonies. During the 50 episodes we follow the character Kira Yamato as he comes to grips with which side he is actually on in this war and how to deal with the events that are going on around him.

Despite its success, this series is very much disliked (to put it mildly) by the UC and older fanbase who claim it's nothing more than a MSG rip-off while the younger and newer Gundam fans enjoy its storyline, plot, mecha and characters. This series has been dubbed and DVDs are available in North America.
