Episode 1 - Is there a moon?

Review by Paul McCartney Junior

This episode starts off with a brief history lesson on the 7th space war. One colony's bid for independence turned into an all out war. After 8 months of a stalemate, the earth forces mobilized a superior weapon called "Gundam". You see the Gundam X, Leopard and Airmaster along with their respective 'bits' which are remote controlled suits that resemble and function like their mother suit. These Gundams are too much for the colony forces. Eager to win, the colony forces threaten to drop all the colonies on Earth if the earth forces will not surrender. The earth forces press their attack and the colonies are dropped, killing most of Earth's 10 billion inhabitants. The survivors had no relief yet managed to live on.

Fifteen years later, the environment of the earth is again stable and people live as normal as possible. Two men looking for work claim to be newtypes from the war known as "The Twin Red Stars". Suddenly, a purple space force mobile suit attacks the town. While townsfolk man guns and bazookas, the Twin Red Stars high-tail it out of there. Then a young boy in a shelter named Garrod Ran runs out, brandishing a bottle. He throws the bottle at the mobile suit's head; it makes a flash and blinds the mobile suit. Garrod grapples up and opens the cockpit and points a gun at the pilot. Then he shoves the pilot out of the suit to where some angry townsfolk are waiting with shovels, 2 by 4s with nails and other miscellaneous toys. A man in a top hat approaches the suit and asks if it was Garrod Ran who did it. As Garrod's captured mobile suit is being sold, this man offers Garrod a job.

The man hands Garrod a picture of a young girl named Tifa. He tells Garrod to rescue her and refuses to state why. Garrod happily accepts. Garrod goes to the ship, Freeden, where Tifa is being held. He breaks in and is nearly spotted by a lady complaining about a cold shower. When he crack's the captain's safe, he finds nothing more than a mobile suit's control and takes it. He finds the room where Tifa is in and she says she has been waiting for him. They escape in a buggy and the Freeden are helpless to pursue as they're attacked by a group of Daughtress mobile suits. Garrod drives Tifa to where he is supposed to meet his employer but Tifa refuses to go with the man. Garrod swerves around the employer and is pursued by a group of Daughtress' (maybe the same ones from before).

Garrod and Tifa make it into a clearing where they are chased by the Daughtress’. On a few occasions, Tifa senses a shot coming and corrects the steering wheel to dodge it. She directs Garrod to a warehouse. In the warehouse, their buggy is shot by a Daughtress and rolls into a small hole. Tifa points to a Gundam momentarily then faints. Garrod picks her up and brings her inside the Gundam. As Garrod tries to start the Gundam, he sees it is missing a control. As the Daughtress’ shoot at the Gundam, the mobile suit control he stole falls into his view. He says that if it works, he'll believe in God. Hey, it does work and he informs the now conscious Tifa that he believes in God. With the Gundam, he punches out one Daughtress and heads outside. A barrage of fire collapses part of the warehouse on the Gundam but the Gundam is unharmed. Another Daughtress rushes the Gundam but the Gundam jumps and cuts it with a beam saber. As the daughterless’s retreat, you see the captain of the Freeden ask if there is a moon. Then two more Gundams, Gundam Leopard and Gundam Airmaster show up to fight Garrod. We're left with Garrod pointing his saber at the two.

Paul Jr's Thoughts:
The beginning was a bit slow but it got intense really quick. Garrod Ran seems a little reckless and optimistic; let’s see what that does for him. Why are so many people after a little girl like Tifa? We'll probably get answers soon.

Onto Episode Two
