Episode 4 - This operation is time critical!
Tifa’s condition is now critical. She will survive maybe a week. Her nervous system is breaking down, no doubt due to that white liquid courtesy of Olba Frost. Jamil decides to head to Alternative Company to overtake their medical facility. While on the bridge, he is forced to tell why he is so bent on a girl like Tifa. Jamil explains that he was a newtype during the space war and piloted the Gundam X. He still can call upon his newtype ability but it will cause him tremendous pain. He says that his mission is to find other newtypes and make contact; which is why he wants to save Tifa with his own hand. Roy and Wits don’t want to take part in this mission and desert the Freeden. Garrod begs them to stay but receives a kick to the crotch by Wits. He grabs Wits’ foot and begs but only gets a kick to the head. Garrod goes into Tifa’s room and prepares to knock out the Doctor. The Doctor tells Garrod to hurry up and not disturb his reading. Garrod apologizes to Tifa and tells her he’ll be back and tells her not to die. After Garrod leaves, the Doctor cynically comments that he hopes she makes it until next time.
As the Freeden passes another Vulture ship, Jamil lets out a red flare. Red as we’re told means “We want cooperation”. Three other Vulture ships join the Freeden as all of the captains seem to have a history and high rapport with Jamil. As the captains are gathered aboard one ship, the battle plans they are forming seem to come to Shagia Frost, who is still at Alternative Company. Olba says “I understand, brother” which makes it sound like they can communicate telepathically. Olba tells Shagia that the plan is to move in 2 groups to split the company’s forces. Then Jamil will use the Satellite System to win. Shagia requests that he be given some men so that he can outwit them.
Garrod sneaks into the mobile suit hangar and stares at the GX. Another kid tells him to leave but Garrod calls him a “little shit” and pushes him. The boy then steps on Garrod’s foot and Garrod proceeds to take said boy by the collar. Two mechanics tackle Garrod and tell him not to touch the head mechanic again. The boy introduces himself as Sam Samuel, Boy Genius, just as Captain Jamil is walking in. Garrod sits before Captain Jamil and asks to pilot the GX. Jamil says that he will do it. Sam asks Jamil if he is over his cockpit phobia. Jamil says no and tells Garrod it is an after effect of the war. Garrod says it would be safer for him to do it. Suddenly, Olba gets inside of his plane and launches. He maneuvers to where Jamil and Garrod are and fires. Luckily, nothing connects but Olga blows a hole in the side of the Freeden and makes his escape. Once outside, Olba says “Now you’ll see the Ashtaron’s true form” and transforms the plane into a Gundam! “Now princess, I shall rescue you!” he says before revealing a claw from Ashtaron which tears open the Freeden and allows him to pick up Tifa’s bed. As he is flying toward the Alternative Company, Shagia and his Daughtress team have assembled where his Virsago grips the ground with its claws and lifts its torso to reveals a powerful cannon. He tells them to go to hell before seeing the moon and fires his cannon. We’re left with an image of a beam barreling towards the congregated ships.
Paul Jr’s thoughts:
Olba was a spy all the while. You figure something would happen with him still on the Freeden. Jamil being the GX’s original pilot was quite a twist. His mission to bring all the newtypes together is quite heroic. Well we can figure that Tifa will make it out alive so my question for now is what are they going to do about the beam barreling towards them?
