Episode 6 - I Don’t Like It

Review by Paul McCartney Junior

Today’s episode begins with another Vulture ship. Female Ace pilot, Ennil El is resting, applying makeup when a fellow vulture gives her some photos. The Gundam X has been spotted near their position. She sees an opportunity to become the greatest mobile suit pilot and accepts the mission. The Freeden, momentarily out of danger, heads to an old federation factory with data in hand to get their own mobile suit. Garrod, upset from not being able to see Tifa, is distraught. At the factory, they make a Daughtress and intend to sell it. Garrod in the Gundam X is towing the cart holding the Daughtress when he accidentally runs it into a pillar. Some cement and steel girders fall on the Freeden crew, causing some broken bones and bleeding; luckily nothing serious.

In the bridge of the Freeden, Garrod is awaiting punishment. Captain Jamil tells him to be more careful and sees no need for a penalty. When Jamil leaves the room, Sala follows him and wants to ask him a personal question but can’t bring herself to say it. Meanwhile, Ennil El and her escorts are watching the Freeden from above. Tonya walks into Tifa’s room and they talk about why Garrod is sad. Tonya tells her that if she makes herself pretty for Garrod, he’ll cheer up. Tifa refuses so Tonya leaves her makeup in front of Tifa.

Garrod enters the bridge and uploads some map data onto a disc. He intends to go to an old power plant to find parts the Freeden can sell to make up for his accident. Once he leaves, he is immediately pursued by Ennil’s squadron, herself in a “Wise Wallaby” Daughtress Custom and two “Fire Wallaby” Daughtress’ for support. Shortly after, Jamil takes off in a Daughtress to help Garrod.

Garrod arrives at the power plant and is attacked by Ennil El. The Fire Wallabies fire at the X but hit the nuclear reactor. As the reactor is slowly melting down, the mobile suits continue to fight. Gundam X maims the arm of one Fire Wallaby and stabs the cockpit of another. The reactor gets even more unstable. GX and Wise Wallaby have a beam saber fight before Ennil decides to take off. The reactor is now critical as Garrod is prevented from escaping by sporadic explosions. Jamil arrives on the scene and tells Garrod he is in danger. As the two are jetting away, the Freeden’s crew are passing out radiation suits. Tifa finally brought herself to put lipstick on as Sala walks in to hand her a suit. Tifa covers her lips, embarrassed. Sala pulls her hands away and sees the lipstick and most likely assumes it was for Jamil. She says “Just as I thought. I don’t like it.” and leaves. We’re left with Garrod and Jamil fleeing the exploding plant.

Paul Jr’s Thoughts:

Well first of all, a misunderstood love triangle is forming. That has potential to go somewhere although Sala does have the wrong idea. Gundam X and the Daughtress escaping the exploding plant could be the first Deus Ex Machina moment though not a very big one. For now, will the Daughtress and GX escape unscathed? Will Sala be able to show her feelings toward Jamil?
