Episode 9 - Kaolin Calls Gundam
As a few Moonrace men unload a truck of supplies, they begin to check the list, and three mobile suits walk out. Shocked, the Moonrace men begin to wonder what's going on, as there were no mobile suits on the checklist. From the cockpit of one of the mobile suits, a man emerges. One of the unloaders reveals that the man is more dangerous than 'the bomb', and that he escaped the army prison. One of the men leaves to inform Harry of the problem, and the man from the mobile suit asks if captain Shyanoa is there. As he is told that he is not there, but actually conducting a digging project, he begins to walk without looking, and falls on his head. When two men laugh at him, he knocks both of them down with the flick of his arm.
Nearby, at a large house, Grey Ralf sits outside, under an umbrella, reading a newspaper. As Kihel asks if he has read the paper, he said that he, indeed, has, and that he's read the same article over and over again, about how WhiteDoll hopes to bridge the gap between moonrace and earth people. When Kihel says that now Loran is exposed, Grey reminds her that Loran is not the Pilot, Lora is, and that not many people know of the difference.
Loran walks into the Bakery, and the owner’s daughter says that she doesn’t know where Keith went, and never said where he was going or when he was going to be coming back. Loran decides to leave a message for him with her: "Go Go Go"
As he exits the bakery, two moonrace men in suits like that of the army (though not the same) take him, telling him to go with them. Soshie runs into a room with Kihel and Grey, yelling that they have been fooled by Loran. Grey seems to laugh, and says that then she, Soshie, should try and control whiteDoll.
Back at the Moonrace base, Loran is shoved, rather forcefully, into the same room he was in before. Harry confronts him, saying he is early. He shows him the newspaper, and repeats the information we already know, but says that it doesn't mention a pilot names Lora, and asks Loran if he knows this "Lora". Loran seems to avoid all of Harry's questions, and Harry says that to avoid the war, the only thing they can do is destroy the WhiteDoll, and that it is also for Dianna's sake as well. He walks out and the door closes and locks behind him. As he walks down the hallway, he contemplates in his head, saying "Loran and Lora".
At the mountains, Meishi teaches a group of people how to control the Mobile Suits they found earlier. At the top of the mountain, the man who came on the mobile suit earlier in the moonbase is standing on top, complaining about how there is no white Mobile Suit. He jumps down and begins to 'play' with the kapools, taking out every one with ease. The Man, evidently named Corrin, says that the white bearded mobile suit should come out and wait for Corrin to see him, saying that he knows that he is a Gundam.
Within the Moonbase, Loran debates with himself what to do - he doesn’t want to give up information to Harry, but at the same time, he seems to be attached to the moonrace. Nearby, a line of trucks with militia men make their way along a dirt road. Keith asks one of the Drivers that if he follows them, he will, for certain, be able to see Colonel Miharu? The man rudely responds by saying he shouldn't repeat questions.
Grey is informed, as Soshie begins to move the WhiteDoll (without any apparent problems), that they were attacked by the MoonRace. Grey nods, saying that Dianna finally made the first move. Keith meets up with the colonel, and immediately gets to the point: He wants to buy a mobile suit. He says that he saw them hiding them. He gives him information about a few mobile suits of the enemy's hiding out, and says that he needs the money because he wants to build himself a huge bread making factory.
A missile is launched, hitting a militia truck, causing it to roll. Corrin walks up in his mobile suit, yelling that he is attacking the militia, invading the farms, and that he wants to meet the Bearded Gundam.
Grey is informed, and asks if there is any word from Loran. When he realizes there is none, he asks Soshie, who has just walked in, to go investigate and stop them. Kihel objects, saying that Soshie just learned how to control it, and Grey says that that's the point. Grey says that investigation is enough. Just let them see the WhiteDoll.
Harry, Dianna, and Miran are all conferencing about the Problem that is Corrin. They say that his character is strong, and that he never obeys orders and that was why he was jailed in the first place. Harry says that he will take care of it. When Miran questions him, Harry admits that he, personally, will not take care of it. Harry approaches Loran, telling him he wants him to Find Lora and get the WhiteDoll out there. He says that if the MoonRace Mobile suits showed up, it would cause a problem.
The Militia helplessly fights against Corrin, and Corrin yells out that he wants to fight the Gundam. This confuses the militia. WhiteDoll shows up, with Soshie piloting it and Corrin Clobbers it. He even yells that the Gundam Sucks, because it is too easy. Just as Corrin is about to smash the Gundam, Soshie pulls something off it's back and points it at him, saying she will fire. Soshie uses her last chance and kicks Corrin's mobile suit in the Groin area, knocking both of them over. Corrin is dizzy, and his vision is impaired. Loran rides up to Whitedoll, opening the cockpit. Soshie yells at Loran, telling him not to touch her. After she yells another time, she seems to pass out. Loran looks up, noting that Corrin is wobbling about, complaining that everything is spinning. Loran puts Soshie on the ground carefully and takes control of WhiteDoll. Corrin Charges at Loran, but Loran skilfully jumps over him, and Corrin takes note of these new improvements in skill. Loran picks up the fallen weapon that Soshie dropped before, and causes a beam saber to come out, cutting off Corrin's weapon (Which looks like a large stick made of steel). Corrin runs off, complaining that it's due to gravity. He hates it.
Final thoughts: this episode was a little less full than the other few - it seemed a bit slow in the beginning, and all the little bits here and there added up, but in the end, it was a good episode all in all. We heard for the first time the word "Gundam” and evidently (as if it wasn't obvious), WhiteDoll is a Gundam. What it means though, is a different story - it seems to be special in more than one way, and it almost definitely has a lot more to it than we know of as of yet.
