HGUC AMX-003 Gaza C Haman Karn Custom

Review by Paul McCartney Junior

Here we have the custom Gaza C of Haman Karn. Being my favorite Gundam character, I thought it a good idea to pick it up. Nothing other than the color makes this different from the regular Gaza C kit. The Gaza kits have ‘gummy’ parts for the wires rather than hard plastic, to allow for better posing. They are also surprisingly easy to get in and keep in.

Assembly:
No glue, no paint, no problem. Putting the vent in the chest piece was the hardest thing on the kit. Instructions are clear and the only somewhat difficult part was telling what slot the neck joint fits into the Gaza’s massive backpack.

Head:
This is hard to write because the ‘head’ is only 3 pieces. The neck joint which allows it to fold into the backpack is pretty simple and makes the transformation look good. The eye is a clear green piece and the neck can only move a few degrees forward or back but I don’t see any reason to complain about that.

Torso:
The Gaza’s torso is complicated and is no doubt the heart of the model. On the right side, you have another clear green piece, presumably the gun’s sight as well as the gun itself. The gun is held on by a gummy wire and an elbow joint which fits in the underside of the chest. You can also remove the gun and fit it into the side of the backpack for the Gaza’s transformation mode.

Arms:
The Gaza’s arms could be the weak point of the kit. Instead of a ball joint like most HGUCs, you get 2 separate joints, one that moves the triceps to and from the body and the shoulder which is free to rotate on the chest. More often than not, the chest piece will want to rotate with the arm. Attached to the forearms are the Gaza’s shields. They can rotate a full 360 to match the transformed mode. In the shields, you can fit the beam saber handles as well. The hands have the standard cupped version to hold beam sabers and ones to plug the arms while it is transformed. The right hand has an opened version that you can set the gun in for posing purposes.

Legs:
The legs of our Gaza are pretty well made. They rotate at the thigh to allow the legs to curl forward during transformation. The knees have 2 joints allowing you to get close to 110 degrees. The feet can bend in 2 spots, giving you some pretty believable claws and easy balance.

Final Thoughts:
This is the perfect kit for UC and Haman Karn fanboys. It should have come with a stand so your chicken mode isn’t useless. Other than that the kit is somewhat expensive though you have a pretty cool piece for your shelf.
